Stings and Sweats

Time is at a
premium
though the
effects are
much
ignored

Travel jogging
paths lined
with flora
maybe they
soften a
hostile heart

another chance to
start a life anew
pleading in a
old cowboy hat
baby come back
maybe

a woman’s
words are like a
cocked hammer a
million bee stings

peel the pain
like an onion
and
cry
cry
cry

then keep
moving
through the
sunflowers
in your mind

Catch Lightning

The electric
silence rings
much louder
than your
stylish tantrums

I wish I’d
forgotten that
it is a
thunderball
of danger

The only
hope is
to harness the
flash replicate
the fire

and let you
smolder in
your beautiful
way

Sweet and Sour Struggle

The moment
you are
exposed you
feel the
crunch you’re
on a different
planet a
blizzard of
realizations

we pack
desolation
along with
our lunches
nature gives
us limited
time on this
gravelly path

the struggle so
remote a
ravenous search
gunning for
our goals and
look at all we’ve
missed

and for what?
if we just had
pulled off
the road
traveled 100
steps and walked
the tightrope

sandpaper and
vinegar is
all we’ve
become

Sex on a Plane

It’s something I
must do
she said
put me in the
upright and
locked
position

sit back
your next
release is
worth the
mayhem

risks and
benefits
leave a sample
on the seat

worked up
sexed up
behind tight
closed doors
under blankets

a hostile work
environment for
sure but you
will feel
free

and who
doesn’t
want
that?

One of the greatest gifts in life is the sense to know what problems don’t have to be solved, and what hassles you don’t have to get involved in.
